David Latham | Principal

Founder and Principal at First Tier Media, David Latham is an experienced PR Director and journalist who has represented some of Australia’s leading NFPs and peak bodies – getting thousands of stories up across flagship media and helping clients to set the industry and policy agenda in their sectors.

David is a proven and successful lobbyist and campaigner, most recently at Federal and State level for the arts and aquaculture sectors, where he helped coordinate broad coalitions and campaign strategies that have achieved their goals. He has successfully lobbied for the health, construction, and disability sectors.

As a media trainer David has prepared hundreds of clients for interviews, Royal Commissions, helped hone key messages and pivot and bridge into the stories they want to tell about their organisations and sectors.

David also helps NFPs and social enterprises to build their own media capacity so they can tell their own stories, with light ongoing light touch support. David has an Arts Degree (Honours, History/Politics) from La Trobe University.

Anna Demant | Principal

Anna is a Principal at First Tier Media and an experienced philanthropy, fundraising and communications executive whose most recent position was Head of Impact at the Australian Communities Foundation.

She is on the Funding Committee of Scanlon Foundation and on the committee of Refugee Advice and Case Service.

Anna is a founding board member of Inclusive Development International and is on the committee of Australian International Development Network. Previously, she was Foundation Manager of Planet Wheeler Foundation, and Foundation Manager at Lonely Planet Foundation.

Anna is a founding member of Refugee Leadership Alliance, designed to increase links, funds and opportunities for refugee leaders in our region. She is a pro-bono technical advisor to Asia Pacific Network of Refugees, and has a particular focus on working to promote meaningful refugee leadership.

She has an arts degree from Melbourne University and a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing from RMIT.

Erdem Koch | Media Trainer

Erdem is a highly experienced media professional and trainer who has worked as Executive Producer for ABC’s Insiders, as a journalist and presenter at SBS, as a freelance print journalist and as a lecturer in communications at La Trobe University. Most recently Erdem was Communications Manager at Tik Tok.

Imogen Bannister | Snr Content Consultant

Imogen has worked as a senior publisher, editor, and program manager across some of publishing’s most iconic brands, from Lonely Planet through to Oxford University Press and as a freelance consultant. Her communications and strategy nous helps keep First Tier media’s content tight, well-directed, and relevant.

Bianca Hall | PR Account Manager

Bianca studied International Relations at RMIT and worked tirelessly as a regional journalist at the Seymour Telegraph, sourcing stories, conducting interviews, and writing 90 percent of the copy. Bianca brings that tenacity, work ethic, and news sense to First Tier Media.

Laila Chanzi | Business Development Manager

Laila brings a unique wealth of knowledge to the Business Development Manager role with previous experience as a Childhood Educator. 
Having studied Early Childhood Education at Victoria University, Laila has interests in children and women’s rights with a particular focus on child safety. 
Laila brings her knack for social responsibility, assessment and evaluation expertise, and sharpened communication skills to build a socially conscious client-base.
